Dr David Wescott
Specialist Orthodontist
BDS (Otago), DClinDent (Orth-Otago), MOrth RCSEd (Edinburgh), MRACDS (Orth-Australia)
David realised the huge difference that orthodontic treatment made to his own smile after having orthodontic treatment as a teenager. This motivated David to pursue a career in orthodontics and now he enjoys achieving the same results for his own patients. David graduated with a Bachelor Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago in 1999 and the following year he commenced work at Auckland Hospital for a two year period as a dental house surgeon. After leaving the hospital he worked for four years as a dentist in private practice. In 2006, David started training to become a specialist orthodontist and completed his Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics at Otago University in 2008. To ensure that his training met international standards, he voluntarily completed a series of examination in orthodontics held by the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. David was formerly a committee member on the New Zealand Orthodontic Association (NZAO) Executive and he continues to maintain an active interest in professional standards and the future direction of the orthodontic profession. David lives on Auckland’s North Shore with his wife and three children. He keeps fit by attending the local gym. He tries his best to reduce his carbon foot print by travelling to work on his Vespa.
